There are love stories that are meant to never end. However, there comes a day when everything changes and everything ends without any explanation. A new life begins. A similar example, but in footballing terms, is the relationship between Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid. A love story that lasted 16 seasons and left behind 671 matches, 102 goals and 22 titles won.
Once again, fate has brought the two sides together, albeit on different sides. As was the case in the first leg just a few months ago, the Andalusian centre-back will once again come face to face with 'Los Blancos'. However, this time it will be even more exciting, as he will return to his former home: the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ramos' last game in the 'Merengues' stadium was almost four years ago. On 1st March 2020 and against eternal rivals Barcelona. It was not the defender's last game in the 'Merengue' jersey, as he went on to play up to 16 more. However, due to the pandemic, 'Los Blancos' home ground became the Alfredo di Stefano.
It is a special match for the eternal '4'. He will be reunited with his fans and is sure to be well received. In fact, Real Madrid themselves are expected to pay tribute to their former captain before kick-off. The centre-back, in an interview with 'DAZN', revealed that, of course, his return will be very emotional and that, in the event of scoring a goal, he will not be celebrating.

Sergio Ramos, if nothing goes wrong, will become the most-capped defender in the history of the La Liga. He will reach 524 appearances and thus surpass a Spanish and madridista legend such as Manolo Sanchis.
He will do so at the Santiago Bernabeu, which was almost always his home and where he grew up and developed as a footballer. It is as if destiny had wanted the No. 4 to continue making history in the stadium where he gave so much joy.
As if this were not enough, Ramos has always been a defender who has had goals in his DNA. Proof of this is his 102 goals in 671 games played in the 'Merengues' shirt, placing him second in the list of defenders with the most goals in the history of 'Los Blancos', only surpassed by Fernando Hierro (128). He also holds that position in La Liga, where 75 of them, between Sevilla and Madrid, have been in the domestic championship.
Once again, Sergio Ramos is facing the team of his life (along with Sevilla). A fact that has only happened 3 times in his entire sporting career and where he has never lost (2 draws and a victory). Nobody knows what will happen on this occasion, although it will undoubtedly be one of the most emotional matches that the No. 4 will play in his entire career.
