Despite the fact that reality might make it harder to accomplish, Sergio Ramos absolutely wants to take on his last challenge in La Liga, and end his career at Sevilla. The Spaniard has plans to join the Europa League champions this summer.

According to 'SER Deportivos', Sergio Ramos is determined to play for Sevilla next season. The former PSG player wants to come full circle and retire in La Liga, with the team he made his debut with in the top flight. The former Real Madrid centre-back is currently without a team after Paris Saint-Germain announced his departure a month ago.
Despite offers from Saudi Arabia, Ramos would prefer to continue at the highest level and has a very clear goal: to play for Sevilla. Next season, Sevilla will be playing in the Champions League, and this could be a strong argument for Sergio Ramos. However, the reality of the situation is likely to be more complicated than that.
"At the club, they're not in agreement: they believe it's impossible for him to come," said Manolo Aguilar, Spanish journalist for 'SER'. "The player's desire is clear, but it's not a possibility. It's all due to a social, economic and sporting aspects".
"It's not a priority for Sevilla, in fact, I don't think it's going to happen, but it's true that the player's desire is clear and that he wants to play for Sevilla", he concluded.
For his part, renowned Spanish journalist Chazarri does not see his return to Andalusia in a positive light. Indeed, relations between the Sevillian partners and Ramos are not at their best. "Sevilla are rebuilding their squad because they want to get rid of veteran players with big salaries, but this signing is a bombshell. They lost Monchi and the north stand was closed because of a history with Sergio Ramos in 2017."
The distance between Ramos, Sevilla and its fans seems impossible to bridge, but it's clear that the mere possibility of the legend returning to his former home has generated a lot of interest in Spain.
