Sevilla didn't just knock Man United out of the Europa League, but also Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite the Portuguese star being in Saudi Arabia, if the English side had won the tournament, it would've counted for his record. However, the Spaniards ended any last hope of a last European trophy for the Portuguese man.

It's a great coincidence that Sevilla, the team against whom Cristiano Ronaldo has scored most goals (27), also knocked the Portuguese man out of the Europa League. The Spanish side not only knocked out Man United, but also the Al Nassr striker.
Even though the Portuguese player is in Saudi Arabia wearing the Al Nassr shirt, if his ex-side had won the title, it would also have counted for his records. That's why the Andalucians ended any last hope of a European trophy for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
He's also the owner of five Champions League titles (one with Unitedr and four with Real Madrid), meaning Mendilibar's side finally ended the European journey of Ronaldo's career while he's busy shining in the Middle East.
The Andalucian side will play the semi-final against Juventus in search of yet another final where they'd be going for a record seventh title in the competition. On the other side of the draw is Jose Mourinho's Roma going up against German outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
