Shocking poster in outskirts of Bernabeu
After an effigy of Vinicius was hung on a bridge in Madrid, more shocking images are coming in which are just as terrible. Before the Copa del Rey game between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, in the outskirts of the Santiago Bernabeu, some fans were holding a disgraceful banner which said "Anne Frank supports Atletico". Thie girl in question dies in 1945 in a concentration camp at the hands of the Nazis.

The derby between Real Madrid and Atletico had a lot of spice to it, and not just on the pitch. Unfortunately, before, during and afterwards hate images stained the great game which both sides of the capital played out at the Bernanbeu.
In the Bernabeu's surrounding areas before the game started, fans, supposedly Real Madrid ultras who have been banned from watching their side were seen helding a shocking poster. "Anne Frank is an Atletico fan" could be read.
Anne Frank was a jewish girl who died in a Nazi concentration camp in 1945. She was a symbol of struggle and fight which, in this case, was used to send a shocking message to Atletico's ultras, who could be seen in the girl's shirt.
It is not the first time that Anne Frank has appeared in football as a sign of hate to the opposition. In Italy, Lazio put the girl in a Roma shirt. The country was in uproar over it and the club was duely fined €50,000 for it.
The match had been feisty before this. An effigy wearing Vinicius' shirt had been hung on a motorway bridge. La Liga, Real, Atletico, the RFEF, the AFE as well as others condemned it. Far from being over, acts of hate continue.
