“Showing three cards for protesting is excessive”

Three Real Madrid players were cautioned for approaching the referee to protest, a decision that, for Fran Garcia, is too harsh. “In the end it's the referee who considers it to have been an inappropriate response, he decides. It's his feelings, but obviously, it's a bit excessive,” he said.

Fran Garcia regretted the three yellow cards that Real Madrid players were given for protesting to the referee in the 'Merengues' win over against Espanyol, and assured that it was “a bit excessive”.
“In the end, the referee considers that it was an inadequate response.... he decides. They are feelings that the referee has to see and, obviously, to show a yellow card to three players for talking or protesting is a bit excessive,” he said in the mixed zone of the Bernabeu.
Fran Garcia highlighted Real Madrid's improved performance against Espanyol. “We continue in the same dynamic, trusting in the great team we have because line by line we are the best team in the world. With hard work the results will come, the team is getting a great feeling,” he said.
“Espanyol played tighter than we thought, but the work was good, and so were the feelings. We have to keep working because things will go well. Teams are fresher at the start of the match, but the good thing is that we ended up having opportunities," he concluded.
