Pablo Barrios, Atletico Madrid midfielder, will miss the next LaLiga EA Sports match against Girona at the Civitas Metropolitano stadium due to a five yellow card ban, pending the possibility of an appeal by the red and white club to the Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the other bodies, in the event of a sanction.
"Let's see if I'm lucky and they can take it away. I told the referee that for me it wasn't even a foul. When they changed me, they told me the same thing. We all fail," he told Movistar.
Barrios, who was replaced in the 84th minute of the match against Villarreal by Saul Niguez, was cautioned in the 62nd minute of Monday's clash for a tackle on Mosquera.
None of Atletico's other five players who were suspended saw a card. Neither Koke Resurreccion, Marcos Llorente or Jose Maria Gimenez, who played the full 90 minutes; nor Stefan Savic, who played half-time; nor Gabriel Paulista, a substitute and not on the pitch.
