To talk about the history of Manchester United is to talk about Sir Alex Ferguson. The Scottish manager admitted that he sometimes misses coaching the Red Devils, 11 years after his departure.

Sir Alex Ferguson is one of the most influential people in Manchester United's history. The Scottish manager, who left the club in 2013, longs for his time in the dugout.
"Yeah, I miss it sometimes. I think the first year after retirement, I went to the European final and I said to Cathy 'this is what I miss' - big games, the European games," said Ferguson in an interview on the 'BBC'.
That is why ‘Fergie’, has attended every Champions League final he has been able to go to since then, regardless of the teams or the city where it was hosted.
"So then I went to most of the European finals because I find something I can relate to, something I would liked to have done every day. Because these are the big events that United should always be involved in," he added.
Since the departure of the Scottish manager, Manchester United have not been as consistent as they were under him, when they were one of the best teams in England and Europe. Since then, they have only won the 2017 Europa League on the continent and in several years they have not even been in the Champions League.
Ferguson also spoke of his wife, Cathy, who died last November. "Fifty-eight years is a long time. She was a great wife, a fantastic mother. She was the leader, there's no doubt about that," he said emotionally.
The former coach was also asked about his life off the pitch: "I've been retired for 11 years, so you have to find a way to adapt."
