The Spanish Football Federation announced on Tuesday that the single judge of competitions has agreed to alter the order of the semi-final matches of the Spanish Super Cup, which will be played in January in Jeddah.
Thus, the match between Athletic Club and Barcelona will be played on Wednesday 8 January at 20.00 CET, while the semi-final of the competition between Real Madrid and Real Mallorca will be played on Thursday 9 January at the same time.
In his ruling, the single judge for competitions points out that this agreement responds to the aim of allowing Real Madrid to have adequate rest for the hypothesis that the postponed match between Valencia and Los Blancos can be played on 2 January, given that on the 5th of the same month, the round of 32 of the Copa del Rey will be played.
The Spanish Super Cup semi-final between Real Madrid and Real Mallorca was scheduled for 8 January, while Athletic Club's match against Barcelona was to be played the following day. The Spanish Super Cup will be played at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
