"It's going to be difficult for Real Madrid," said Spanish international striker Abel Ruiz, a Sporting Braga player, who will "go for the win" in Tuesday's Champions League clash between the two sides.
Real Madrid "are a great team and obviously it's going to be a very difficult game, but we have very clear ideas and we're going for the win," said the 23-year-old attacker, who hails from Almussafes (Valencia), during an interview with 'EFE'.
"We are a very, very strong, very reliable team at home, we are going to try to play with our weapons, try to hurt Madrid and try to look for any weaknesses they might have", he added. Ruiz is confident that his side will give "100 per cent" against Real Madrid because "one of the best teams in Europe" will be in front of them.
In this sense, he argued that, in order to take the three points, Braga, who share second place in Group C with Napoli on three points, will have to "play a perfect game".
Braga have returned to the top continental competition this season for the first time in 10 years and their objective is clear: "To finish top of the group", which after the first two rounds is led by Real Madrid (6 points) and where Union Berlin are bottom with 0 points.
"We're in the Champions League group stage for a reason, we haven't come all this way to look for third place," said the Valencia striker. Braga got off to an unlucky start with a 2-1 defeat at home to Napoli that came courtesy of a 90th-minute own goal moments after the Portuguese had equalised.
