Sporting Lisbon confirm £8.3m release clause for Amorim to be paid by Man Utd
Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim is on the brink of becoming Manchester United's new boss after the Portuguese club announced on Tuesday that the coach's £8.3m release clause is to be paid by the Old Trafford outfit.
Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim has quickly emerged as the leading contender to take over as Manchester United manager after Erik ten Hag was sacked.
"Manchester United have expressed their interest in recruiting coach Ruben Amorim and have said they are ready to pay the 10 million euro release clause," Sporting said in a statement to the Lisbon stock exchange on Tuesday.
