Chelsea qualified for the next round of the Champions League thanks to a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge. Raheem Sterling was one of the key players of the match as he opened the scoring in the 43rd minute.
The 28-year-old missed three games since the Champions League round of 16 first leg due to injury but was able to recover for the second leg at home.
Sterling spoke to the press after the match and said they had always had faith in the team: "It was a massive performance. We had to dig deep. We took our chances and recently we just haven’t had the luck. Tonight, we felt it as a team, we knew we could do it.
"Kai [Havertz] did it for us in the end. I have seen Kai shoot penalties all the time in training, and I was so confident in him, and he knew exactly what he was doing and I knew he would put it in the back of the net," he added.
"I miskicked it and didn’t have a great first touch, but it landed perfectly for me and that set us on our way to build on the performance," the English striker concluded.
