Barcelona are hours away from confirming Marc-Andre ter Stegen's replacement. The German goalkeeper's serious injury forced the club to move quickly on the free agent market, and there they found a recently retired Szczesny.
The Polish goalkeeper has given green light to Barcelona's proposal, who will sign him for the current season. For the time being, it is Inaki Pena who will be in goal for the first few games without Ter Stegen.
Polish journalist Tomasz Wlodarczyk reported that Szczesny, who is currently in Marbella, will arrive in Barcelona on Monday to pass his medical.
Once he has done so, and if everything is correct, he will sign the contract that will link him with Barcelona for the current season. What is not expected is an official presentation of the goalkeeper.
Szczesny will be able to watch live, even without being called up, his new team's match against Young Boys on Tuesday, a game that Barcelona must win after their slip-up in Monaco.
