Ten Hag on dropping Ronaldo against Liverpool: "I slept well after dropping him"

Manchester United, after a 69-month drought, were finally able to lift the Carabao Cup title once again. The Red Devils beat Newcastle with goals from Casemiro and Rashford (2-0).
Ten Hag is the main reason for his team's success. The Dutchman does not hesitate when he has to act. Just look at what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the club in November after a controversial interview.
It all started when te Portuguese was benched in the first game against Liverpool, United's opponents at Anfield on Sunday. Both the Portuguese and Maguire were dropped and the Red Devils won 2-1. The Dutchman recalled that moment and justified himself.
"I had reasons to choose that team against Liverpool. They were obvious. And I knew the reaction if it had been a negative outcome, which is always possible in football. But I am not worrying. I sleep well also in those nights. I have to take the decisions in respect of the club and the team. I have to stand by those decisions," he said.
Cristiano finally ended his second spell at United and headed to Saudi Arabia to play for Al Nassr. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have already won a title and are in in a quadruple hunt this season.
