Manchester United needed to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after being thrashed 7-0 by Liverpool at Anfield. However, the Red Devils were held to a draw by the Saints.
The Mancunian team received a hard blow when in the 34th minute Casemiro made a hard tackle on Alcaraz, and after checking the VAR, ref Taylor was left with no choice but to send off the Brazilian.
The Brazilian has therefore received his second red card this season in the Premier League with Manchester United and will be banned for a minimum of four games.
The Red Devils boss was asked about the former Real Madrid player's dismissal after the game and he replied: "Casemiro has played over 500 games in Europe. He never had a red card. And now, what is it? In [the space of a few] games and 20 games [in total] in the Premier League, he has two red cards.
"We will deal with his absence. The issue is that this game was influenced by the referee," the former Ajax manager concluded.
