Dani Carvajal spoke to the press ahead of the European Super Cup, in which Real Madrid will face Atalanta. The full-back is coming off the back of winning the European Championship with the Spanish national team as one of the best players in 'la Roja' and on the continental stage in general. This season, Carlo Ancelotti's side have the first opportunity in football history to win seven titles in the same campaign.

This season, Real Madrid can win seven titles. It is the first opportunity to do so in the history of football thanks to the return of the Intercontinental Cup, a sort of compensation for the new format of the Club World Cup. In the run-up to the meeting with Atalanta in Warsaw, Dani Carvajal, Federico Valverde and Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the media at a press conference.
"We're very excited, very much looking forward to it. It's our first appearance and starting with a title fills you with confidence. We have an important challenge ahead of us," the defender began. "Yes, I've enjoyed the great season personally and collectively, but it doesn't stop. The most important thing is the collective titles, the personal is secondary, although I do have the illusion. My focus is on lifting another title with Real Madrid," he added.
"Well, I've had to suffer him several times and, as a team-mate, I corroborate that he's a great player and he's going to help us a lot to have a great season," he commented, when asked about Kylian Mbappe. "There's no sense at all. I reiterate my previous statements. It's impossible for us to perform at our best with the Club World Cup, with FIFA dates in between.... It is impossible to perform 72 games. The appropriate bodies should analyse this because it is impossible. The games drop in level and we and our families suffer," he said of the schedule for the upcoming season.
Most of the questions from the press were directed at Carlo Ancelotti, so neither Dani Carvajal nor Fede Valverde did much talking in the room, so it should come as no surprise to the reader that there were few statements from the two players.
