All doubts are over. Without official confirmation from FIFA, the Santiago Bernabeu will be the venue for the most important match of the 2030 World Cup, the tournament's final.
'Marca' said that the decision has already been made in favour of Real Madrid's stadium, which has been remodelled in recent years to host the great football event par excellence.
Morocco were also in the running to host the 2030 World Cup final. However, the source explained, the good relations between FIFA and Real Madrid have made it possible to host the event at the Bernabeu.
Recent problems in the Spanish Federation, specifically the sanctioning of Luis Rubiales for the complaints filed in recent events, had jeopardised the Bernabeu's candidature, but finally, the negotiation has come to a successful conclusion.
It is not until 31 July of this year that Spain, Portugal and Morocco have to officially decide on the venues and make it public, once they have the approval of the supranational organisation.
The Spanish Federation, in July, continues to negotiate the number of venues in Spain. They have asked the other countries for 12, the last one for Vigo, or 13, with the new Mestalla as the host venue.
A total of 11 venues have been confirmed: Camp Nou, Stage Front Stadium, San Mames, Reale Arena, Santiago Bernabeu, Metropolitano, La Cartuja, La Romareda, La Rosaleda, Estadio de Gran Canaria and Riazor.
