Former Real Madrid and Spain coach Vicente del Bosque gave a football masterclass to 160 Chinese children born in Spain on Thursday, in which he declared that "the best players always have to play at Real Madrid", after being asked questions by the children who attended the event.
"It's not the time to talk about this, but the best players always have to play at Real Madrid," he said. When asked to choose between the Champions League or the World Cup, he did not make any statement and pointed out that "we should not associate victory with good experience".
The former national team coach said that he thought he would always be in Real Madrid's academy, "but, in the end, the opportunity to be a professional coach came up" and highlighted his time in Turkey, which, "although it only lasted 10 months, was an absolutely fantastic experience".
Del Bosque, who stressed that "you have to be measured in victory and defeat", underlined that he felt privileged to have been able to coach "great players like Hierro, Raul, Morientes, Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo" and remarked that in the national team he had "great players who always had a good conduct and were an example for young people".
