Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar lamented on Wednesday that the trio he formed with Lionel Messi, currently at Inter Miami, and Kylian Mbappe has not resulted in a Champions League title for the French side, but recalled that Real Madrid's 'Galacticos' did not win the trophy either.
"Real Madrid's 'Galacticos' didn't win the Champions League...", he said in an interview with youtuber Casimiro Miguel, referring to the era when Real Madrid had Ronaldo Nazario, Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Roberto Carlos and Raul Gonzalez in theri ranks, among other stars.
The 'Selecao' player justified the fact that he, Messi and Mbappe have not been able to win the Champions League in the two seasons in which they formed the attacking line of the French team.
"We had a very strong team. Messi, Mbappe and I are the best in the world. We knew that, but unfortunately we didn't click. It wasn't good for us," he admitted. Neymar pointed out that the trio's intention was to "win everything", but that "football sometimes is not the right thing, the fair thing".
In the 2021-22 season, PSG were knocked out by eventual champions Real Madrid in the last 16 and in this past campaign they lost in the same round to Bayern Munich.
