Spanish international striker Dani Olmo (Terrasa, Barcelona, 1998), Barcelona's new signing for the next six seasons, said on Friday that the club's aim this season is to "win as much as possible".
"We are Barca and we always have to compete for everything. We have the players and the coaching staff, so we're going for everything," said Olmo, Hansi Flick's first Barca signing, not including youngster Pau Víctor from Girona.
The midfielder, who arrives from German club RB Leipzig and who has just won the European Championship with Spain, highlighted among his qualities "versatility, quality and touch".
Olmo declared that returning to the club where he spent seven seasons before joining Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb is "a dream come true" and that he feels "ready and eager to contribute and win".
"I'm very happy to be back home, to see my family and my national teammates. I've played with many Barca players and I'm also looking forward to seeing others, such as Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski. There is a lot of quality and I'm really looking forward to it all," said Olmo, who will wear the number 20 shirt.
Olmo admitted that the last few weeks "have been a bit intense" and that "everything has gone very fast". "I'm grateful for life to RB Leipzig and now a new stage begins. I appreciate the effort Barca have made to bring me in," he said.
