Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared at a press conference after the 1-1 draw in the derby against Atletico. Asked about the quarter-hour stoppage of the game for the throwing of objects at Thibaut Courtois, he said the referee made the right decision, even if it didn't sit well with anyone.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti assured that the referee of the derby Mateo Busquets Ferrer “made the right decision” when he decided to stop, after 69 minutes, the match at the Civitas Metropolitano due to the throwing of objects at Thibaut Courtois.
“It was a correct decision by the referee because the match had to be stopped for a few minutes and we had to go to the dressing room. It was a correct decision that nobody liked because the match was stopped, but I think the referee acted well,” defended the Italian coach at a press conference.
Ancelotti did not want to judge the punishment that Atletico Madrid may receive after the incidents. “I am just a coach, I have to evaluate and have control of the sporting. There are people more expert than me to make the right decision.”
He ruled out that the 22-minute stoppage affected his team and allowed their opponents to take a breath of fresh air. “Absolutely not, it has been a match with this problem that has affected both teams equally because both wanted to play, but the referee's decision has been the right one.”
