"The schedule? Those who manage it will be smart enough"
Diego Pablo Simeone avoided talking about whether Atletico will ask La Liga to bring forward the derby against Real Madrid on 4th February in order to have an extra day's rest for the Copa del Rey semi-finals against Athletic. He said that those who "manage this type of situation will be intelligent enough to do what is best for them".

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone said on Saturday that "the people who have to manage" the fixture schedules, with the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Athletic on 7th February, "will be smart enough to do what is best for the competition".
"I don't go into that situation. The people who have to handle this type of situation will be intelligent enough to do what best suits the competition and we will accept from the place we are in, looking to think more than ever match by match," he explained when asked about the matter.
Before that match, the 'Colchoneros' play on Sunday 4th at 21.00 CET against Real Madrid, while the Basque side play two days earlier, on Friday, at the same time against Mallorca.
According to the latest reports, Atletico are angry about the schedules and intend to ask La Liga to bring the derby forward to 3rf February. We will have to see if the employers' association listens to the 'Colchonero' team.
