"The Spanish national team? Hope is the last thing to be lost"
Isco Alarcon stole the show for Betis once more and earned his side a crucial victory over Valencia in La Liga. The Malaga midfielder is not giving up hope of being called up by Luis de la Fuente for the European Championship in Germany.

Few players have been more decisive this season than Isco Alarcon. The Andalusian midfielder is enjoying an excellent campaign with Betis and has one objective for the summer: to play in the European Championship.
After beating Valencia, with a great first half, the midfielder spoke of that possibility, which is only in the hands of Luis de la Fuente, the national coach.
"The national team? Hope is the last thing to go. It doesn't depend on me, but I'm not obsessed about it either. I'm having a good time and that's the most important thing," he told the 'Movistar La Liga' microphones.
The truth is that Isco has it difficult to be in Germany. In the last call-up he wasn't in the squad due to injury and he hasn't played for 'la Roja' since 10 June 2019.
The fact that there are only 23 players available - on other occasions there have been 25 - also means that he has fewer options to go to the European Championship.
