Courtois spoke to 'Movistar+' ahead of the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna and spoke at length about the respect in Europe for Real Madrid and Vinicius, who has been the target of criticism in La Liga.
The Belgian spoke about the situation of the 'Merengues' in the closing stages of the season. The goalkeeper acted as captain and defended the club and the Brazilian, who is one of the most fouled players in the five big European leagues.
"I think that in Europe there is more respect for Vinicius, for other players and perhaps more respect for Madrid. Against Chelsea and Liverpool there were no problems and they are also tough opponents, because in England they also comit fouls," he said.
"It's not a question you have to ask me, you have to ask your opponents and those questions never happen, that's the problem.... Then the questions are joking and they like how people can get inside Vinicius' head perhaps," he added.
Finally, Courtois was proud that his team-mate has put aside the criticism. "I hope Vini can answer with his performances as he is doing. There's a world of difference between the boy who arrived five years ago and now. I'm very happy to see him like this and I hope he can keep scoring goals, assists. That's how he's going to shut people up," he concluded.
