If there are two things that are certain in football, it is that Real Madrid are Champions League kings and Sevilla are Europa League ones. Although the former were unable to defend their crown this season after being knocked out by City, Sevilla have lived up to their billing and made it to yet another final.
The Andalusian side will face Roma in the final after producing an incredible 2-1 comeback against Juve at the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium (3-2 on aggregate). Vlahovic gave the Old Lady the lead in the second half but Suso restored parity with a thunderbolt from the edge of the box. The match went into extra time and in the first half of it, Lamela capped the Andalusian team's comeback with a header.
On the other hand, Jose Mourinho's Roma remain on track for a second European trophy in two seasons, after a 0-0 draw at Bayer Leverkusen sent them through 1-0 on aggregate on Thursday.
The Europa Conference League holders created little in attack but defended doggedly, as the increasingly frustrated home side peppered their goal in search of an equaliser. The visitors held on through eight minutes of added time and will face Sevilla in the final in Budapest in late May.
