As Juventus and Inter Milan face each other in Sunday's crucial 'Derby d'Italia', Marcus and Khephren Thuram, sons of football legend Lilian Thuram, meet as rivals for the third time in their careers. Despite playing for the France National team, the two brothers have surprisingly never shared the pitch with the 'Blues' outfit, counting only 14 minutes together thanks to club football.
Their first duel dates back to a Coupe de France match in 2018/19 when Marcus played for Guingamp and Khephren for Monaco. Guingamp striker was victorious as he contributed to his side's 2-0 win with a goal. The Thurams met for the second time in the thrilling 4-4 draw between Inter and Juve earlier this term, sharing just four minutes on the pitch.
While Khephren is still relatively new to Italian football - he joined 'La Vecchia Signora' last summer - his 27-year-old older brother has had a bit more experience after a season-and-a-half with the 'Nerazzurri' - he left Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach in 2023. With 78 appearances under his belt for Simone Inzaghi's side, Thuram counts 29 goals and 11 assists to his name and is just a goal away from matching last term's goal tally with months still to go until the end of the current season.
On the other hand, The 23-year-old midfielder's career trajectory has resembled that of his father's as they both started out at Monaco and made a pit-stop elsewhere before moving to Juventus. For Lilian, it was Parma while Khephren chose to sign with Nice. Khephren has registered 32 appearances for Thiago Motta's side, scoring two goals and providing four assists in his first season in Turin.
