Celtic have officially confirmed that Kieran Tierney will return to the club in July following the expiration of his contract at Arsenal. The 27-year-old will rejoin the Scottish Premiership side after a four-year stint in the Premier League, where he made just one start and four substitute appearances since December.
The move was confirmed by Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers at the end of January, who revealed that an agreement had already been reached.
The confirmation was further cemented by Celtic's chairman Peter Lawwell, who mentioned the arrangement in the club's interim report, ensuring that Tierney's return to Parkhead is now a done deal.
Tierney's career at Arsenal started in 2019 when he left Celtic for a reported £25 million transfer fee. However, since then, injuries have hampered his regular playing time at the Premier League club. Despite his limited appearances, his potential and previous success at Celtic have made his return highly anticipated by the club's supporters.
Having made his Celtic debut in 2015, Tierney went on to become a key figure for the club, racking up 170 appearances.
