Timber's injury a 'huge blow' for Arsenal, says Arteta
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta held a press conference ahead of the Premier League game against Crystal Palace. The Spanish coach provided an update on Jurrien Timber's injury and told how they plan to deal with his absence.

The 22-year-old damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Gunners' 2-1 win at home to Nottingham Forest in their opening match of the new Premier League season last weekend.
Timber only joined Arsenal, bidding to go one better than last season's second place in the Premier League, in July in an initial 40-million-euro ($45 million) move from Dutch giants Ajax.
He can operate at both centre-back and right-back and it had been hoped he would bring added depth to an Arsenal defence that struggled to cope with injuries to William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu towards the end of last season.
Arsenal, however, may now have to go into the transfer window again to get cover for Timber, with Mikel Arteta's side looking to overhaul treble-winners Manchester City as Premier League champions.
Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta gave a press conference ahead of Monday's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace and explained how they plan to deal with his absence.
"It’s a huge blow, especially for him having just joined the club to have the injury that he has is a huge disappointment for him," he began.
"Obviously for the team, it’s a big blow because we recruited him with clear intentions and what he was bringing to the team was evident, and he’s not going to be in this season for us. We have to adapt, these things happen unfortunately, and we have to move on.
"Jurrien been very good, to be honest, he’s a special character, he knows, and I think he’s started to realise the extent of the injury and the amount of time that he’s going to be out, but he’s in a good place. We are all willing to him help and we are all very close to him, but it’s going to be a long journey."
On possible new transfers, he went on to add: "I am more thinking about the resources that we have within the team to keep doing what we want to do. It’s an opportunity for everybody. We’re going to need everybody, and everybody is going to be important."
