Jose Mourinho is without a team after ending his time in charge of Roma. The Portuguese has reappeared on the 'EA SPORTS FC' YouTube channel to talk about his chances of becoming his country's coach.
Mourinho said he regretted turning down the Portugal job after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar: "I decided to stay in Rome and I made a mistake. The Portuguese said he had two opportunities to be coach, but they did not come at the right time.
"Portugal have a fantastic team, one of the best, in the top five. But I felt a great connection with Roma, with the fans, so I didn't do it," he argued about why he stayed on the Italian bench.
Furthermore, the Portuguese left the door open to be coach of his country in the future: "Portugal approached me twice, I think there will be a third time and I will accept it. I hope that the generation then will be as good as the current one.
