A judge has opened an investigation into two FC Barcelona fans for allegedly uttering racist insults against Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr during last October's 'El Clasico' at the Montjuic stadium.
According to 'EFE', the case has been opened by the head of Barcelona's 18th examining court on the basis of a report by the Mossos d'Esquadra for the chants and racist insults against the Brazilian footballer during the match between the Catalan team and Madrid.
In addition to the Barcelona Public Prosecutor's Office's hate crime service, which is already involved in the proceedings, the Professional Football League has asked to prosecute, while the judge has offered Vinicius Jr the opportunity to appear as a defendant.
This is yet another investigation into the insults that the Brazilian Real Madrid player has received. Vinicius, however, was not the only one. Athletic star Nico Williams also received racist insults this past weekend, in this case from the stands of the Metropolitano Stadium.
