Manchester City will not bow to pressure from Barcelona, who are trying to get an affordable price for Joao Cancelo. According to 'The Sun', the English side have told the Catalan club that either they pay 30 million euros for him or he will return to Pep Guardiola's side for pre-season.

Joao Cancelo spent last season on loan at Barcelona. The loan deal expires on 30 June and Barcelona's board is working to try to convince Manchester City to offer a good price to keep the Portuguese, who Hansi Flick is counting on for the 2024/25 campaign.
In England they refuse to have a tug-of-war. From the Etihad Stadium, they are pushing for the right-back's future to be decided as soon as possible.
According to 'The Sun', as much as Barcelona are pushing to try to lower the price of Joao Cancelo, City are clear that they will not lower their transfer fee by a single euro. If the Catalan giants want to sign him permanently, they will have to pay around 30 million euros for his services.
However, they are currently unable to meet that payment due to their problems with Financial Fair Play. The only alternative they give the English club is to extend his loan, but Barcelona would have to commit to buying Cancelo next term for the 30 million euros demanded by City.
Cancelo is willing to reduce his salary to around 11 million a year in order to try to make it easier for the Catalans to buy him. Manchester City know that the defender would have no problem finding him a new destination. If Barcelona cannot afford to buy him, Cancelo will have to return and spend the pre-season with the English club.
The player, meanwhile, prefers not to think about it. "I'm focused on the European Championship," he said when asked about his future before Portugal's match against Czech Republic.
