Ecuador striker Enner Valencia has "a slight sprain" in his left knee which occurred in the opening match of the Qatar World Cup last Sunday. A decision has yet to be made on whether he plays or not.
"Valencia has a left knee sprain," the doctor told the press. He said that the Fenerbahce attacker had an MRI scan which revealed that it was "nothing serious":
"His availability depends on his evolution in the coming days, both in the gym and on the field," Chiquito said.
The player, who scored both goals in Ecuador's victory in the opening match, had to limp off after 70 minutes.
Ecuador capitain Valencia is the player who has scored Ecuador's last five goals in World Cups as he got the last three in the 2014 edition in Brazil.
