Valverde was one of the options to replace Klopp

Following the announcement that Jurgen Klopp was leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, many coaches have been linked with the Reds. It has now emerged that Ernesto Valverde, recently re-signed by Athletic, was on the Anfield team's agenda.
Valverde has extended his contract with the ‘’Lions‘’ for one more season. The Extremaduran won the Cup this year after 40 years without the San Mames club winning it, and his continuity seemed to be in no doubt.
