Van Basten urges Timber not to join Arsenal
Ajax legend Marco van Basten advised Jurrien Timber not to sign for Arsenal just yet and to continue playing in the Eredivisie for several more years. "You have to go to a club where you know for sure that you are playing," he said.

Arsenal already signed Kai Havertz (£65 million) from Chelsea to strengthen their midfield and Declan Rice (£105 million) is expected to join as well.
They are not only looking to strengthen their midfield but are also working on their defence. The Gunners have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Jurrien Timber as they offered £40.5 million to Ajax for his transfer.
However, Ajax legend Marco van Basten has urged the centre-back to continue playing in the Eredivisie and not join the Premier League just yet: "You have to go to a club where you know for sure that you are playing," he said in an interview for 'Ziggo Sport'.
"A club where not only do you play but where you are decisive. You are now at Ajax. You have to give yourself that assurance. You also have to be stable in your private life. If you don't live with your girl yet, I'm just saying, and you're going there on your own, I'd absolutely advise against it," he continued.
"The moment they don’t feel they are better with you, then they are all against you. Because you are an intruder. Then you have to do it alone. I would really advise him to gain another year of experience in the Netherlands."
