Pellegrino Matarazzo has been excused from his position as VfB Stuttgart head coach, with the club's loss in nine matches into the 2022/23 Bundesliga campaign. Pellegrino Matarazzo age 44, was the coach of Vfb for three long years. He had taken Stuttgart into the Bundesliga six months after his joining the club. But unfortunately for the club, the New Jersey native could secure only a ninth-placed finish in his first full season at the helm, even Die Schwaben struggled in the year 2021-22 and was only able to prevent the drop after his last-moment win over Cologne on the final day.
Stuttgart, the German club announced in a statement on Monday their faithful decision to separate from their coach because of the poor results of the team which was only penultimate in the championship which was very disappointing to the fans.
Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat said in the statement that they have a lot of faith in Pellegrino Matarazzo’s potential and capabilities as a coach when he was appointed in 2019. He even exceeded expectations and convinced the club that he would be the best for the team even through tough times. But even though they went into the new campaign with renewed vigor there were no results to show for it. Thanking the coach for his fabulous work the director mentioned that the results made their decision to part with the coach unavoidable. He also informed in his statement that a successor is yet to be decided upon for the position of coach.
The management of Stuttgart decided to announce separation from its coach, after their defeat against Union Berlin on the ninth day of the championship. Where the score was (0-1).
The defeat to Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin with the goals (1-0) marked their fourth defeat this current season. This leaves them in 17th place with only five points to their credit, which makes them the last team in the German championship without a win after nine days. After the defeat against Berlin, VfB slipped down once more while still awaiting their first win of the season.
Since football gets a lot of sponsorship from online gambling this continuous loss might be an issue there as well. Not all online gambling organizations have direct debit either which might be risky for gamblers since gamblers can cancel a direct debit within one and a half months, but such casinos are not many. To check out casinos with direct debit visit Neuecasinos. The site gives a list of casinos with direct debit and offers information on debit charge for an online casino.
Pellegrino Matarazzo has correctly been able to guess on Sunday evening that his time with the team and at VfB Stuttgart was coming to an end. But he still conveyed his conviction that the team would win against bottom VfL Bochum on Saturday. This might give rise to speculation that he has foreseen that that season with VfB will also be his last. But Matarazzo added that he was not worried about his future and the team's success in what matters to him the most. Wishing the team the best in the future he concluded by adding that they are great guys.
Shortly after this on Monday after hours of consultation between the club’s top management and CEO Alexander Wehrle along with his advisor Sami Khedira and sports director Sven Mislintat the news of the separation was declared at 5:38 p.m.
Though the club bid them farewell as nicely as possible. The resurgence and the two-time relegation played a part along with the obvious disappointing results in his dismissal. The loss in Wolfsburg has probably caused the management of the Schwaben to think about the future of the club. Ultimately it was agreed that a change in the coaching position is necessary to battle the negative results of the past few weeks.”
On Sunday in the 76th minute of the game, following Paul Jaeckel’s goal suddenly the entire stadium went quiet. Even the most loyal supporters were seen turning away from the team and the coach, disappointment was evident in their attitude. And that’s how it seems to go with football coaches and managers. They might peak at the club at some point, but then lose the momentum. As with everything in life, we grow out of roles and get older. Sometimes it is better to part and start something fresh. Even last season, when VfB played against relegation, the support has yet to lose passion. But this time the alienation was evident. Even though the team had fought passionately in the 90 minutes they were yet to score the goal the fans wanted.
With a mere three games win in all of 2022 the decision seems inevitable. Even though last season, Stuttgart only avoided relegation by a goal difference. Stuttgart had started the new season in an awful form which might be the reason for their position in the relegation zone. It seemed the game with Union Berlin which was Matarazzo’s 100th game in charge of the club sealed his fate.
After three long years of cooperation and camaraderie, the team and the coach have to separate because of the lack of positive growth and success of the team this season. Though the Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrles confirmed that the coach always had the team's interests in his mind the results demanded immediate change.
