FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted that the 2-1 win over Porto in the Champions League, which sealed the team's place in the last 16, will boost the players' morale ahead of next Sunday's game against Atlético de Madrid. He also responded to accusations of victimisation for the refereeing against Rayo Vallecano.

Speaking at the presentation of the 125th anniversary manifesto, which the club will celebrate in 2024, Joan Laporta stressed that, despite the "obstacles", Xavi Hernandez's team continues to "move forward". The president believes that the 'Cules' will arrive with confidence for the match against Atletico Madrid.
The boss said the 2-1 win over Porto in the Champions League gave him "a lot of pleasure", both for the fans and for the coach, who "has had to overcome difficult situations" in recent weeks.
"I was happy to see Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo score, to see Pedri run 13.5 kilometres. Frenkie (de Jong) is back, we got the ball back and we are unbeatable. Some were waiting for us to lose," he concluded.
The president also regretted that after La Liga draw against Rayo Vallecano (1-1) there was talk of "nonsense" and not of the alleged penalties on Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski in the match played in Vallecas.
"If this were to happen in Madrid, they would be talking about the penalty all week. It's not victimism, we're used to living like this", the president added.
