After international tournaments such as Euro 2024 and the Copa America are over, most teams are preparing for the start of the 2024/25 season. During the pre-season, coaches test their new signings, youth players and new tactics in various friendly matches.
In the case of the Gunners, Mikel Arteta led his team in their first pre-season friendly behind closed doors. The Emirates Stadium outfit beat League One side Leyton Orient with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe, who featured alongside other first-team regulars.
However, the Spanish coach also gave playing time to a host of youth academy prospects. Check out the highlights of the win for the Gunners, who face Bournemouth in their second pre-season friendly on 25th July.
