Real Madrid entertained Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
Gavi gave Barcelona the lead in the 33rd minute after a defensive error by Rudiger while Robert Lewandowski deservedly doubled Barcelona's advantage right on half-time. In the second half, Pedri sealed the victory when he scored in the 69th minute. It was a disappointing night for Madrid although Karim Benzema netted a consolation with almost the last kick of the game. Real Madrid return to action on Thursday with a Copa del Rey tie at Villarreal while Barcelona travel to third tier Ceuta on the same day.
