Giroud made two major career decisions at the end of the season, when he announced that he would leave AC Milan to join MLS side Los Angeles FC and that the European Championship would be the end of his international career with Les Bleus.
The 37-year-old striker, who is France's all-time leading scorer with 57 goals, made his 133rd appearance for Les Bleus in what was his last game representing his country on home soil.
The Frenchman started and was replaced in the 62nd minute by Bradley Barcola, receiving an incredible ovation from the French crowd, who watched as their team was held to a goalless draw by Canada.
