Manchester City's Erling Haaland scored five times as the FA Cup holders ran riot in a 6-2 rout of Luton in the fifth round on Tuesday. Aided by Kevin De Bruyne's trio of assists, the Norwegian completed his treble inside the first 40 minutes at Kenilworth Road.
But any Luton hopes of an incredible comeback were ruthlessly erased by Haaland as the 23-year-old scored twice more after the interval to send Manchester City into the quarter-finals.
"Incredible. Incredible. Five goals in a game is unbelievable," claimed Mateo Kovacic after his side's victory. "His mentality is to score goals and to be there fighting. Today I think his overall game was amazing. Not just the goals. He’s a player that you love and enjoy to have in your team."
