A goal from Kylian Mbappe, who minutes earlier had missed a penalty saved by Steve Mendanda, was enough for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a 1-0 win over Stade Rennes and book their place in the French Cup final against Lyon, who knocked out Valenciennes on Tuesday.
The first Cup final since the 2020-21 campaign consolidates Luis Enrique's project, who kept the French star until the end of the match. There was no substitution for the Parisian top scorer, the player who created the most danger throughout the semi-final against an opponent they had failed to beat in their last two head-to-heads.
