Real Madrid had to wait 12 years to lift their tenth Champions League title, when they beat Atletico Madrid in extra time in Lisbon to claim a title that had eluded them for several seasons.
Such was the joy of the club and the fans, who were unaware that the title would usher in an era of European dominance that continues to this day, that an anthem dedicated to 'La Decima' was created and won over Madridistas around the world.
Carlo Ancelotti, who coached the club in his first spell at Los Merengues when they won their tenth Champions League, has fond memories of the anthem which he labelled "the most beautiful song in the world" and which he sang along with thousands of Madridistas at the La Liga title celebrations.
