Marco Reus has stepped down as Borussia Dortmund’s captain. The 34-year-old Germany International was captaining the side for five years.

Marco Reus announced through a video posted on twitter by Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund's official account that he is stepping down as captain of the German club after five years.
"Hello dear BVB fans! It's very important for me to tell you something personally: I had a lof of time to think during my vacation and I decided to pass on the captain's armband," started the player.
"I informed Edin Terzic and Sebastian Kehl about this yesterday. I was allowed to wear this armband for five years with pide and honor. Thank you for your support over the years. I wish Sebastian and Edin that they find a very good successor. Until then, ciao," concluded the German winger in the video.
Marco Reus joined Dortmund in 2012 from Borussia Monchengladbach aftyer coming though the youth academy. During his 11 years at the club, he has made 387 appearances, scoring 161 goals and providing 121 assists.
