Spain U23 are already in Bordeaux where they have their base camp ahead of the Olympic Games in Paris, France. The Spaniards have the pressure of trying to get the gold medal and thus accompany the triumph of the senior team at Euro 2024, which they won after defeating England in the final 2-1.
Santi Denia's team will begin preparations for their debut in the tournament, when they face Uzbekistan U23 in the first matchday of the group stage. The other two teams in Group C are Dominican Republic U23 and Egypt U23, against whom they play on 27 and 30 July respectively.
The Spaniards played a friendly match ahead of the start of the Olympics, being held to a 1-1 draw by the United States. After this warm-up match, Spain will leave Bordeaux, where they landed on Wednesday, and head to Paris on Friday, where the last remaining player, Fermin Lopez, who won the European Championship with the Absolute National Team, will join them.
