Villa agree £40m deal with Chelsea to sign Maatsen

Ian Maatsen, who has spent virtually his entire career playing for Chelsea, is set to change his destination. According to reports in England, the 22-year-old will play in an Aston Villa shirt next campaign.
Unai Emery's side, which is managed by Monchi, have reached an agreement with the Blues to secure the left-back's services from next season. The Dutch defender has reportedly agreed a six-year deal until 2030.
Nonetheless, nothing is signed yet as Maatsen is representing the Netherlands at Euro 2024 as a replacement for Frenkie de Jong, who had to pull out of his country's training camp due to injury.
But everything seems to be practically closed between the two parties. Maatsen had a great season at Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund, helping his team reach the Champions League final. He played on loan for coach Edin Terzic but the footballer is now ready to start a new adventure in England.
