Villarreal are going for Ayoze Perez. According to 'Relevo', the club from Castellon want to pay the 4 million euros of the clause of the striker, who is considering the option of joining the team managed by Marcelino Garcia Toral.
The Yellows would offer the player, who has already been informed of their intentions, a substantial salary increase. He currently earns around 2 million euros net. He intended to stay at the Benito Villamarin, but this scenario has made him hesitate, as the Verdiblancos would not be able to match the increase in salary offered by Castellon.
Both parties have been working for some time on a contract renewal that has so far failed to materialise. This contemplated raising the player's wages as well as his low clause. Ayoze already had his salary considerably reduced when he arrived in Sevilla from the Premier League, where he received 33% more than what he signed with the Andalusians.
While Betis are trying to convince him to stay and renew with other aspects beyond the economic one (they play Conference and the yellows are not playing in Europe this year), Villarreal are waiting for a response from the Spanish international. At La Ceramica they are looking to bolster their forward line to fill the void left by Alexander Sorloth. So far, only Nicolas Pepe has arrived for the front line.
