Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior, out with a left femoral biceps injury, blamed his injury on the ‘crazy calendar’ of today's football. ‘The crazy calendar... Let's recover!’ he wrote on his official X account, quoting Real Madrid's medical report.
The Brazilian, who provided the assist for Kylian Mbappe's opening goal at Butarque on Sunday, will be sidelined for at least the next three weeks, meaning he will miss the trip to Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday (21:00 CET).
This is Vinicius' second injury this season following back problems in October. It is also the 23rd injury suffered by Real Madrid players in the three-and-a-half months of competition.
After returning from the international break, Real Madrid began a run of nine games in 28 days in Leganes, including a trip to Qatar for the Intercontinental Cup final on 18 December; in other words, a game every three days, concluding at the Santiago Bernabeu on 22 December, in the match against Sevilla.
