Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Sevilla in a match that was complicated by Alaba's own goal. In the end, the white team managed to react thanks to Carvajal, who headed in a set-piece to snatch a point at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Despite this, the match was again marked by a racist act during the game. This took place after Vinicius had pushed Nyland, which led to a brawl in Sevilla's box.
The broadcast cameras recorded the moment when a fan made the monkey gesture in the stands and Sevilla FC acted quickly to identify him, as reported minutes after the end of the match: "Sevilla FC wishes to communicate that, after detecting xenophobic and racist behaviour by a fan in its stands, it has proceeded to identify him, expel him from the stadium and report him to the police authorities".
Vinicius, hours after the incident, posted a message on his social profiles in which he condemned the incident and also congratulated the Andalusian team for their swift action. However, the Brazilian also indicated that he has access to a video of another racist act carried out by a child.
"Congratulations to Sevilla for the swift positioning and the sorrow of another sad episode for Spanish football. Sadly, I have access to a video of another racist act at this Saturday's match, this time by a child. How sad that there is no one to educate him. I invest a lot in education in Brazil to form citizens with different attitudes. The racist's face is stamped on websites as on other occasions. I hope the Spanish authorities do their part and change the legislation once and for all. These people also need to be criminally punished. It would be a great first step to prepare for the World Cup 2030. I am here to help. Sorry to sound repetitive, but this is episode number 19. And counting...", his message read.
