Brazilian Vinicius Junior has been awarded the 'XXXIII EFE Trophy' for the best Ibero-American player by the agency's sports editorial staff, which highlights his importance in the successes achieved with Real Madrid, reaching double digits in goals and assists.
Vinicius picked up the award at the Valdebebas training complex before joining up the Brazil squad for two international friendlies, against Guinea and Senegal, after finishing the season with Real Madrid.
Vinicius thanked for the recognition as trophies like this invite him to "keep working and evolving" to be at his best level and at the same time he was pleased to be awarded with a prize that has already been won by 6 other Brazilians such as Romario, Ronaldo Nazario, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Casemiro.
Vinicius is the ninth Real Madrid player to receive the 'EFE Award' for the best Ibero-American player, while Real Madrid themselves, collected the trophy that recognised them as the best Ibero-American club in 2017 after winning five titles in its football section -League, Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup and Club World Cup- and another in basketball -Copa del Rey-.
