In case anyone had any doubts about what Vinicius thinks about his controversial goal against Almeria on Sunday, he cleared them up with a message on Twitter. The Brazilian not only thinks his goal was valid, but that it is a gesture of technical quality that underlines the origins of his style, forged on the beaches of Copacabana.
"Great goal!!!! That's how he always did it on Copacabana beach," wrote Carlo Ancelotti's pupil next to an emoji. He added a 'gif' to accompany his brief text in which the camera's perspective allows us to see that there are arguments to think that he finished off Aurelien Tchouameni's cross with his shoulder, although there are other points of view that offer convincing reasons to think otherwise. Hence all the fuss.
The footballer's post did not take long to go viral and reignite a debate which, by the time he made his pronouncement, at around 13:00, was still going on thanks to the way the national press had dawned.
Vinicius's controversial equaliser was his fourth in just three games. His good pace in front of goal has left behind the feeling that, in this first half of the season, he was falling victim to a decline even though Real Madrid are at cruising speed in La Liga and the Champions League after winning the Spanish Super Cup, which the 'Merengues' won thanks to a hat trick from the Brazilian against Barcelona.
