Barcelona midfielder Pedro Gonzalez said his teammate Gavi, who returned to action in his side's 5-1 win over Sevilla after eleven months out injured, is a hard worker who deserves a standing ovation like the one he received at the Lluis Companys Stadium on Sunday.
"We have to thank Gavi for everything he has done. He's a great guy, a hard worker who deserves this moment. You can see that the fans love him and we all love him very much," he told Movistar.
Pedri admitted that winning was "very important for the games coming up" next week - against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, and stressed that the team is leaving with three points and good feelings.
The Spaniard said he had to delay his position on the pitch because of Eric Garcia's injury in the warm-up and was pleased after scoring the second goal of the game.
"The coach said that the front of the box left spaces and I was lucky enough to shoot and score. At half-time, we talked about how we had to keep going the same way. Flick asks us to keep a clean sheet, to stay focused until the last minute, but today it wasn't to be," he added.
